DoubleTree by Hilton Reaches 700 Hotels in 60 Countries Worldwide

DoubleTree by Hilton, known for its warm hospitality and upscale comfort, has reached two major milestones. The brand has opened its 700th hotel and now operates in 60 countries and territories. This marks a significant growth since 2008, when DoubleTree began expanding outside the Americas.
In the past year, DoubleTree added more than 40 new hotels, including its first properties in Nice, Laos, the Azores Islands, and Malta. This rapid growth shows how the brand has increased its global presence more than tenfold in just over a decade.
The expansion continues with over 240 hotels currently in development. DoubleTree is preparing to enter nine new markets soon. In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the brand will open its second resort in Egypt, offering a private beach experience. Other upcoming openings include hotels in Northern Ireland and Morocco. In Asia Pacific, new hotels will open in fast-growing cities like Zhengzhou and Yanji in China.
DoubleTree is also growing through conversions of existing hotels. In early 2025, about 40% of Hilton’s new openings were conversions, many joining the DoubleTree brand. This strategy helps hotel owners upgrade their properties while benefiting from Hilton’s global network.
Recent notable openings include the first DoubleTree in Tokyo, located near popular attractions like Tokyo Disney Resort. The hotel features modern design inspired by local culture and offers seasonal dining and fitness facilities. DoubleTree’s debut in Ethiopia is near Addis Ababa’s international airport, providing comfortable stays with local and international cuisine options.
In Southwest China’s Guang’an city, the new DoubleTree hotel is close to scenic rivers and mountains, with several dining options. The first DoubleTree in Nice, France, offers panoramic views of the city and Mediterranean flavors at its rooftop restaurant. Laos welcomed its first DoubleTree hotel in Vientiane, showcasing local culture through design and cuisine.
DoubleTree also opened a hotel in Malta with sea views and easy access to cultural landmarks. The Azores Islands saw their first DoubleTree hotel, set among volcanic landscapes and ocean views. In Türkiye, the brand launched its first ski resort hotel, featuring ski-in access and wellness facilities.
