Human Remains Near Taylor Swift’s Home Identified; Police Deny Serial Killer Claims

Human remains discovered near Taylor Swift’s home in Westerly, Rhode Island, have been identified as those of a 61-year-old local man who had been reported missing since March. The leg bone was found on May 14, 2025, along Everett Avenue in the Watch Hill neighborhood, where the singer owns a multimillion-pound coastal mansion.

Westerly Police confirmed that the remains belong to Kevin Poissant. The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office conducted the identification and reported no signs of foul play. Officials said the circumstances of his death do not suggest any criminal activity.

The discovery was made by a member of the public, which led to an immediate forensic investigation. Due to the close proximity to Taylor Swift’s property, the news quickly spread online. Social media users began linking the discovery to rumors of a serial killer operating in the New England area. Some pointed out that this was the 13th set of human remains found in the region since March, although authorities have not connected any of the cases.

Police have firmly rejected the serial killer theory, stating that there is no evidence to link the incidents. The Westerly Police Department emphasized that each case is being investigated individually and that the findings so far show no pattern. Rhode Island State Police also warned that spreading speculation could interfere with investigations and cause unnecessary panic.

Kevin Poissant was well known in the community and reportedly had health problems before his disappearance. Friends and neighbors described him as a kind and quiet person. His family now has some closure following the identification of the remains.

Officials made it clear that there is no connection between the remains and Taylor Swift or her estate. The singer was abroad on her Eras Tour at the time and has not made any public statements about the discovery. False claims linking Swift’s property to the case have been dismissed by the police.

While the recent findings of multiple human remains in New England may appear alarming, law enforcement agencies have found no unifying link between the cases. Most are believed to involve missing persons or natural deaths. The identification of Kevin Poissant offers clarity in one case and reminds the public that facts should guide discussions rather than speculation.
