UAE Leaders Send Congratulations to Azerbaijan on National Day

The leaders of the United Arab Emirates have congratulated Azerbaijan on its National Day. President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a message to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev. He wished success, peace, and prosperity to the people of Azerbaijan. This day marks the anniversary of Azerbaijan’s independence on May 28, 1918.

Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also sent a message of congratulations. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, joined him in sending good wishes to both President Aliyev and Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

The UAE and Azerbaijan have shared a strong friendship for over 30 years. Their diplomatic relations began in 1992. Since then, both countries have worked closely in areas such as trade, energy, tourism, and investment. UAE companies have taken part in several major projects in Azerbaijan, including infrastructure and clean energy plans.

In 2023, both countries signed new agreements to boost green energy. One of these was a partnership between Masdar, a UAE renewable energy company, and the Ministry of Energy in Azerbaijan. The goal is to increase the use of solar and wind power. This supports Azerbaijan’s plan to reduce its carbon emissions and develop sustainable energy sources.

Trade between the two countries has been rising. In 2022, the trade value reached more than 100 million US dollars. The UAE has become a key investor in Azerbaijan’s growing economy. Businesses from the UAE are especially interested in tourism, agriculture, and transport development in Azerbaijan.

Travel between the two nations has also become easier. New visa rules have made it simpler for Azerbaijani citizens to visit the UAE. More flights and better travel connections have helped grow tourism and cultural exchange.

Cultural events have been another way to bring the two countries closer. The UAE has hosted Azerbaijani exhibitions, concerts, and food festivals. In return, Azerbaijan has welcomed UAE companies at trade fairs and expos. These events help promote mutual understanding and respect.

The two countries also support each other on the world stage. They often work together in the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement. Both are committed to climate action and sustainable development. Azerbaijan is set to host the COP29 climate summit in 2025. The UAE, which hosted COP28 in Dubai, has promised to support Azerbaijan in organizing the event.

The National Day greetings from UAE leaders show the importance of building strong partnerships. These messages are part of the UAE’s wider plan to promote peace, cooperation, and progress across the world. They also reflect the friendly and respectful relationship the UAE has with Azerbaijan.

As Azerbaijan celebrates its National Day, the UAE stands beside it as a reliable friend and partner. The shared goals and growing cooperation between the two countries promise a bright future.
