Over 3,000 Runners Join ‘One Run’ Community Race in Abu Dhabi

More than 3,000 runners took part in the ‘One Run’ community race held in Abu Dhabi. The event was organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in partnership with Hero League. Participants could choose from four race categories: half marathon, 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and 1 kilometer. The race attracted men and women of all ages and fitness levels.

The ‘One Run’ race supports the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s goal to promote healthy lifestyles and build a strong sports culture in the emirate. The council aims to make sports an important part of daily life and improve the quality of life for the community.

The half marathon covered 21.1 kilometers for experienced runners. The 10K and 5K races offered shorter distances for those who wanted a challenge but preferred less distance. The 1K race was designed for children, families, and beginners. This variety made the event accessible to many people.

Since it started in 2017, ‘One Run’ has grown quickly. The race has been recognized twice by Guinness World Records for its size and impact. In 2023, the event expanded internationally and was held in 15 countries by 2024. This global reach shows its popularity and importance worldwide.

The event was carefully organized with safety measures in place. Medical teams were ready to help participants, and the routes were clearly marked. Volunteers supported runners throughout the course to ensure a smooth experience.

The race encourages people in Abu Dhabi and beyond to stay active and healthy. It fits into a larger effort to promote fitness and well-being across the region. Events like ‘One Run’ help build a community that values exercise and healthy habits.

Next year, the race is expected to attract even more participants. Registration opens months before the event through the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Hero League websites. Many runners prepare with training programs and local activities that promote fitness and teamwork.

‘One Run’ shows how sports events can bring people together and improve health. It highlights the growing interest in running and fitness in the UAE and around the world.
