Visa Procedures Between Uzbekistan and the United States to Become Easier

Uzbekistan is making new moves to boost tourism and open up more to international visitors. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree focused on increasing tourist numbers and expanding services in 2025 and 2026. This plan aims to make travel to Uzbekistan easier and more attractive for people around the world.

The decree instructs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin talks within three months with the United States. The goal is to allow US citizens to visit Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. At the same time, Uzbekistan plans to simplify the process for its citizens to get visas to the United States. These changes are expected to improve tourism, education, and business links between the two countries.

Travel will also become easier for citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. They will be able to enter Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days by using only an ID card or a special travel document called a “kinder passport.” This visa-free travel also includes children under 16 years old, making it easier for families to visit.

Starting June 1, 2025, citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman will also be able to travel to Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. This step is designed to increase ties with the Middle East, especially in tourism and business.

At the same time, a mutual visa-free travel agreement between Uzbekistan and China will begin. From June 1, 2025, citizens of both countries can visit each other without a visa for up to 30 days. This agreement is expected to boost tourism and trade relations.

These visa changes show Uzbekistan’s commitment to becoming a more open and welcoming travel destination. By making travel easier for people from the United States, neighboring countries, the Middle East, and China, Uzbekistan hopes to attract more visitors and build stronger international connections.
