Over 60 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrikes Across Gaza

More than 60 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip since early Tuesday. The attacks targeted homes, tents, and schools that shelter displaced people, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Most of the attacks happened in Gaza’s central area. An airstrike on a home belonging to the Abu Samra family in Deir al-Balah city killed 12 people. Another strike in the western Nuseirat refugee camp killed 15 people.
In the northern Gaza Strip, an Israeli airstrike hit a home in the Jabalia refugee camp. Nine people died, and some remain missing under the rubble, local broadcaster Al-Aqsa radio reported. Additional casualties occurred in strikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The Israeli army announced a wide ground offensive in Gaza on Sunday. This follows months of airstrikes and attacks since October 2023. So far, nearly 53,500 Palestinians have died during this conflict. Most victims are women and children.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. They face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the conflict in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
The ongoing attacks continue to cause heavy civilian casualties and destruction in Gaza. Homes and shelters for displaced families have been destroyed. The situation remains critical as the conflict intensifies.
